Artist Biography

Dafna Talmor is an artist and lecturer based in London whose practice encompasses photography, spatial interventions, curation and collaborations.

Her works are included in the permanent collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum, Deutsche Bank, Hiscox collections and private collections internationally, and in publications such as Look at This If You Love Great Photography, Post-Photography: The Artist with a Camera', Architectural Review, Elephant, FT Weekend Magazine, American Suburb X, c4 journal, 1000 Words, Camera Austria, ArtReview, IMA and BJP.

Her first monograph, Constructed Landscapes, published by Fw:Books was released in October 2020, longlisted for the Kraszna-Krausz Photography Book Award 2021. Recent solo shows include Sea of Stones curated by Claudia Küssel,  Dubniczay Palace - House of Arts Veszprém, Veszprém , Hungary, (2023), Straight Lines are a Human Invention (Sid Motion Gallery, 2019), Constructed Landscapes (TOBE Gallery, 2018) & (Photofusion, 2017) and group exhibitions The Hunter of Thyself, (Versus Art Projects, Istanbul, 2024) Her Ground: Women Photographing Landscape (Flowers East, 2019) …on making (Gdansk National Museum, 2019), Moving the Image: Photography and its Actions (Camberwell Space, 2019).

Her work is included in the Known and Strange group exhibition at the V&A Museum, November 2021. Shortlisted for the BNL BNP Paribas Group Award (2019), the MACK First Book Award and Unseen Dummy Award (2018).

Talmor is the recipient of the The Royal Photography Society, Journal Special Awards Issue feature (2022), Breathing SPACE Bursary (2016), Arts Council England Grants for the Arts Awards (2013 2014 & 2017), Photofusion Select Bursary (2013) and the IV Daniela Chappard Biennale Photography Award (2007). Talmor was commissioned by the FT Weekend Magazine for the Photo London 2018 supplement and showed work in the concurrent ‘My London’ group show in Peckham 24 curated by Emma Bowkett (May 2018).
