Iwan Lewis
Iwan Lewis (b. North Wales) based Ynys Môn, is an artist who graduated from BA (Hons) Fine Art at UWIC, Cardiff in 2002 and MA Painting, Royal College of Art, London in 2011. Lewis has exhibited extensively for the last two decades. A selection of his recent group and solo exhibitions include: A Closed Door, A Den, Arusha Gallery, Somerset (2023); LLE, Kingsgate Project Space, London (2023); Overspill, Terrace Gallery, London (2022); Safe House, Blink and You’ll Miss It Art, 139 Copeland Street, Peckham, London (2022); Your Foot In My Face and Other Tectonic Strategies, Kingsgate Project Space, London (2021); Radical Lethargy, Sid Motion, London (solo) (2022); Tonnau O Gariad, BayArt, Cardiff (solo) (2021) and Annwn, Sid Motion Gallery, London (solo) (2020). Lewis was awarded First Prize in Painting, Welsh Artist of the Year, 2012. His work is in various private and public collections including Soho House, London. In 2023 Lewis had a selection of works purchased by The Government Art Collection. Lewis is co-founder of the artist-led space STUDIO CYBI, established in 2016, which has received Arts Council of Wales funding and The Artes Mundi Venice10 commission in 2023.
